Our Studio

There is a place at Urban Body for all bodies. As a studio, we work in areas including: injury prevention, rehabilitation from injury, cross training for athletes and dancers, pre and post natal, senior fitness, spine injuries, and movement for overall health and wellness. The methods we teach focus on movement, strength, flexibility and overall range of motion. We teach breath based work in both Pilates and GYROTONIC®, so you get more than just a workout. Pilates and Gyrotonic is part of a corrective exercise movement, meaning we focus on teaching proper form and postural alignment while moving and breathing, and we remain true to teaching Classical Pilates the way Joseph Pilates intended the work to be and the phenomenal work known as The Gyrotonic Method, so that when you leave our studio you feel invigorated and powerful! Private Sessions

Urban Body San Jose is proud to offer private sessions which put the client in a one-on-one situation with the trainer to accomplish goals in a way that is specific to the one client. The studio offers per person packages for all levels of commitment including:

+     Single Session: $110
+     Five Sessions: $475 ($95 per session)
+     Ten Sessions: $850 ($85 per session) 

Duets

Urban Body San Jose is proud to offer semi-private sessions which foster a unique approach to the work with a friend or colleague side-by-side. The studio offers per person packages for all levels of commitment including:

+     Single Session: $75 per person
+     Five Sessions: $325 per person ($65 per session)
+     Ten Sessions: $550 per person ($55 per session)

Note: Duet sessions can be practiced on Classical Pilates Reformers, Towers, Wunda Chairs or Gyrotonic Towers. Please specify when scheduling.
30 Minute Power Private
A Private Session in either Classical Pilates or GYROTONIC®. Designed for those who want a quick work out during their lunch hour, or need to catch up before joining a small group class. The rates are the same as Duet rates, so you can interchange the two. Either a 30 minute Private, or a 55 Minute Duet with a friend, either way, you get that mind body connection your body craves! Offered in both Classical Pilates and Gyrotonic.

+     Single Session: $75 per person

Tower

Single Session: $45
GYROTONIC® Tower classes are designed to take the body beyond it’s current limitations. People come out of a Gyrotonic class with increased freedom of movement, greater strength, and more agility. Athletes and dancers improve performance. Rehabilitation clients recover quicker, and more fully post injury. The human body is designed to work as one harmonious system, to follow arching and spiraling paths of motion, and to transition from one movement to the next smoothly and efficiently. Gyrotonic Method creator, Juliu Horvath, designed a specialized line of equipment around these natural movement patterns. Because Gyrotonic equipment is highly adjustable, it can be customized to fit each persons unique physique and ability, adapting for things such as height, arm/leg length and range of motion. Join us on the Tower and choose from an array of classes from beginner to advanced. We also offer a Gyrotonic for Dancers Small Group Session.

If you are new to The Gyrotonic Method, it is highly recommended that you either take between 3 and 5 private sessions before joining a class or, you may sign up for one of our Beginner Classes if you are brand new to the work. Classical Pilates Mat /
GYROKINESIS®

Single Session: $30
This small group class is ideal for both beginners and advanced practitioners. A 55 minute journey of fitness and breath, in this small group Pilates class: you will learn the six principles of Pilates and incorporate them in a series of 34 mat exercises created by Joe Pilates himself. We add props such as weights, the Pilates Magic Circle, and bands to enhance your experience. Learn to beat the odds of gravity by understanding proper alignment and creating strength within your body to stand taller and create better posture. Leave feeling lengthened and strengthened.

Gyrokinesis classes can be adapted to fit anyone's ability. People from all walks of life including accomplished athletes, fitness enthusiasts, senior citizens, and people recovering from an injury or dealing with a disability take Gyrokinesis classes. By the end of a Gyrokinesis session, one's entire system is awakened and brought into greater balance. Classical Pilates

A 55 minute class designed to work your full body using the Classical Pilates apparatus with added mat work, props and breath. This class targets the ultimate resistance training. The apparatus is long and lean, just like the muscles it will help you develop during this class. The equipment supports the body to ensure proper stabilization, flexibility, and resistance for maximum full body and core strength.
